TUGATA developed a strategic plan that has made the association remain relevant and
responsive to the needs of its membership and contribute effectively to the
transformation of the tourism Industry in Uganda.
Recognition of the airline and industry stakeholders
TUGATA members prescribe to a code of conduct and professional standards
Members can display the TUGATA log on their office premises or letterheads confirming
that heir agency belongs to a trade association
TUGATA recommends members to IATA whenever they wish to apply for IATA
accreditation. Indeed, to belong to IATA, one must be a members of TUGATA
Recommendation to Uganda Tourism Board and Sanlam General Insurance Uganda for
Licenses and DIP cover respectively
Training opportunities in various subject matter which is core in equipping staff with
performance enhancement skills
Representation on local, regional and international platforms connected with the air
travel industry e.g. Our close association with KATA and TASOTA and UFTAA (United
Federation of Travel Agents Association)
TUGATA is a forum whereby members can present their grievances for arbitration
Lobbying of Government support on important issues
TUGATA is recognized by IATA as the voice that speaks for the Uganda Travel Agents
TUGATA acts for and on behalf of its members in discussions and negotiations on
industry specific issues
TUGATA has close partnerships with Britam Insurance and Sanlam General Insurance
Uganda so that members can benefit from these partnerships
TUGATA has an excellent relationship with our two GDS’ Amadeus and Travelport who
always support the association activities
